Join us if you truly want to improve as a basketball player!

The Blizzard offer an intermediate to advanced level of basketball for girls ages 9 through 17.

Our program features experienced, certified youth coaches and outstanding practice facilities at Salem State College. This is a program for girls who want to become more serious basketball players, have fun and make new friends.

Teams play in AAU tournaments between April and the end of June, and teams practice twice per week. Each team plays in a minimum of six tournaments and participates in the AAU state tourneys.

History of the Blizz ...

The Bay State Blizzard were created in the fall of 2003 by Bob Croce and George Milley. From Day 1, both men wanted to create something different from most other AAU programs.

They agreed that the Blizzard would be about the kids, first and foremost. And here four years later our program still operates with the following goals in mind:

Offer coaches who can develop a player's skills while still understanding that they're just
kids. Make the training intense, but keep it fun too.

Play a top level schedule at all times, but also keep in mind that player development is a more important goal than winning national championships.

Keep fees reasonable! We know how much money it takes to run our program, so why would we collect more than it takes to pay our bills?

Create a community of players, coaches and parents. We call it Blizzard Nation. Our kids go to a lot of the same tourneys, and root for their "sisters" when they're not playing. Our parents are involved too, as coaches, scorekeepers, fundraisers and cheerleaders.

Keep things organized!!! Parents are kept in the loop at all times when it comes to practice times, scheduling and fees. If a coach says at the start of the season that the team will play in 8 tourneys and then collects the money, you can bet that players are going to get their moneys worth.

Play the kids! Although no guarantees are made when it comes to the amount of playing time, each of our coaches are required to ensure that each player plays in each game.
